01About

A little about me and how I got here.

Summary

Most of what I know comes from my internships and from running my own systems at home: Linux, virtualization, Docker, networking and security tools. Along the way I have set up email, cloud storage, messaging and AI services, which taught me a lot about DNS and mail authentication (DKIM, DMARC, SPF).

I enjoy automating security hardening and recording how I did it. The Lab section below is an index of the demos, scripts and write-ups I have put together, if you would like to see how I work.

06Attribution & notes

Being clear about what is mine:

  • I have contributed to and made suggestions on some of the projects referenced here, but I am not the author or maintainer of any of them.
  • openscap-script.sh was not written by me; it is the script used in my OpenSCAP walkthrough.
  • Many of the scripts in tools.tar.zst were made with AI and come with very specific instructions. I do not claim them as hand-written.
  • The handle “jon” has a story behind it. I am happy to explain if you ask.
